Breathe Eze Sleep Positioner

Medical experts recommend that infants sleep flat on their back to reduce the risk of SIDS and SUDI.

The babyhood Sleep Positioner is designed to support your baby to be positioned flat on their back and help to prevent your baby from rolling over onto their tummy and sides, without restricting their movement like traditional sleep positioners that harness your baby firmly and incline your baby with a wedge, which increases their risk of restricting their airways.

Description

The babyhood Sleep Positioner is designed to support your baby to be positioned flat on their back and help to prevent your baby from rolling over onto their tummy and sides, without restricting their movement like traditional sleep positioners that harness your baby firmly and incline your baby with a wedge, which increases their risk of occluding their airways.

The Sleep Positioner is made from a micro towelling fabric that is stain-resistant and colourfast and the inner is made from a firm breathe eze™ fibre. This fibre is tested for breathability and firmness. There is no foam inside our Sleep Positioners, so it is machine washable and therefore more hygienic for your baby.

The Sleep Positioner is adjustable and can be made bigger or smaller to get the right fit for your infant as they grow. The Sleep Positioner is not intended to restrict your baby’s movement, as that is not recommended by medical experts. Your infant will still be able to move but it is intended to prevent your infant from rolling onto their tummy or sides, at the stage in their early development where they are not able to roll back onto their back, safely.

We recommend our Sleep Positioner for use with newborn babies. To safely use the Sleep Positioner, lay your infant flat on their back between the firm rolls of the sleep positioner with their armpits above the rolls – so that they can have full movement of their arms, if they wish. Then take a sheet or muslin and place it over your baby’s body and the sleep positioner, ensuring you tuck the sheet or muslin under the mattress of the sleep surface you are using. Ensure the sheet or muslin does not cover your baby’s face and your baby is positioned at the end of their cot or bassinet, to reduce the risk of them wriggling down under the sheet or muslin. Do not elevate your baby or place them on any incline whilst using a Sleep Positioner (or really ever when sleeping). Please ensure you follow Safe Sleeping Practices including ensuring there is no excessive or loose bedding in your baby’s sleep space (so tucking the sheet or blanket under the mattress is important) to ensure the Sleep Positioner does not move or come loose and checking on your baby from time to time to ensure they are safely on their back.

What is STANDARD 100 Class 1 by OEKO-TEX®

Oeko-Tex® is a worldwide association of independent research and testing institutes for product safety and sustainable production in the textile industry. Oeko-Tex® was introduced in 1992 and is used for testing and certification of textile products.

Textile products are awarded the STANDARD 100 Certification if, on the basis of the extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria catalogue, they have been successfully tested by one of the OEKO-TEX® partner institutes for chemicals that pose a health risk, and therefore contribute to an effective consumer protection.

Babies’ sensitive skin requires special protection. “Product Class I” is the strictest of all four classes in the OEKO-TEX® certification process, testing products for children up to the age of three for harmful substances.

Whilst we appreciate and respect a parent’s right to make the right choices for their family, there are guidelines recommended by the medical experts for safer sleeping for your babies because we all want happy and healthy bubs.

These guidelines include:

Always sleep baby on their back from birth, not on their tummy or side.

Make sure there are no loose objects or extra linen on your baby’s cot.

Make sure your baby’s mattress is firm and clean.

Lay your baby on a flat and uninclined surface.

Timber is a natural product; that is part of its beauty, so a colour variation, knots in the timber and grain pattern are both natural and to be expected. We do not colour match timber during fabrication as the waste from such practices would be environmentally irresponsible, so you will see some variations in your products. We believe this is what makes our timber products naturally beautiful. These variations are unavoidable as timber is seasonal and will vary between season, including the way in which the paint appears on different surfaces. These variations will not be considered manufacturing faults or defects under our warranty.
