The original is the one most parents start with. It measures 50cm wide by 83cm long by 18cm high, with an internal space of 27 by 63 by 10cm, and it suits a baby from birth until they outgrow the length. The cover is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified cotton, the strictest class, the one written for babies under three. Inside is a heat bonded fibre core rather than foam, which keeps it light, washable and dust mite resistant. It has been firmness tested to AS/NZS 8811.1:2013 and breathability tested to ASTM E96, and it comes in nine colours.
Organic Breathe Eze Cosy Crib
Same shape, same firm flat mattress, same fibre core. The difference is the cover, which is GOTS certified organic cotton. Choose this one if organic fibres matter to you or if your baby has reactive skin. It carries the same size, the same age range and the same supervised use rules as the original.
Breathe Eze Baby Support Cushion
The support cushion is a separate, smaller product: two pieces joined with velcro that adjust from 12cm to 20cm apart as your baby grows. There is no harness and no wedge, so arms, legs and hips move freely. It is made with the same breathable fibre core under a micro towelling cover, it is Oeko-Tex Class 1 certified, and it is for supervised rest and play from birth until your baby starts rolling, usually somewhere past three months. It is sold on its own or bundled with a crib.
Cotton covers, washing and nursery linen
The covers are the part that gets used hardest, so it is worth knowing how to look after them. Wash it cold, on a delicate or gentle cycle, in a large front loader. Leave the zip closed and the insert in. Reshape it while it is damp so it dries neatly, then line dry it flat in the shade. No dryer, no dry cleaning. Rotate the mattress now and then to keep the firmness even. Spot wiping does not really work on a fitted cover, so let it go through a proper clean in the machine rather than fighting the stain by hand.
Because it washes so well, a lounger handles the everyday mess that the rest of your nursery linen does.
